Practical or less urgent questions can be asked quickly and easily through the chat feature in the Quin app. These may be questions about your medicines, examination results or a previous consultation. The GP practice assistant will receive your question and discuss this with your GP, if necessary. You will receive a response within 1 work day.
Please note: To use this option, you should first add your GP. Click here to see how.
Follow the steps below:
- Select ‘Contact GP’ on the main page of the Quin app and then select ‘Ask a question’;
- Describe your complaint or explain briefly what it is about;
- Grant a one-time permission to receive a notification when the GP practice has sent you a response;
- Ask your question and start the conversation;
- You will receive a notification through the Quin app when the GP practice assistant has responded. You will receive a response within no more than 1 work day.
Has your attempt to send a message failed? Check your internet connection or restart the Quin app.
Tip: After completing the symptom checker, you can also ask a question via chat for non-urgent complaints. You do not then need to make an appointment to still get your question answered.
Send an image
If you have a visible complaint, you can take a photograph directly through the Quin app and send it along. This will enable your GP to make a better assessment of your complaint.
Follow the steps below:
- Make sure that the conversation with the GP practice is opened;
- Tap on the + icon at the bottom left of your screen;
- Make a new photograph or select a photograph from your photo library;
- Make sure the photograph is sharp and has sufficient lighting;
- Add the photograph to your chat conversation.
Has your attempt to send a photograph failed? Check whether you have granted permission for access to your camera or your media library. If necessary, you can change the settings for this on your smartphone.
Safety
You can safely share your messages. The messages and photographs are only accessible for viewing by the GP practice and will be treated confidentially. At present, it is not possible to remove chat messages and photographs.
