No, the result of the symptom checker is not intended to replace the advice from the GP. Instead, the symptom checker will provide you with information about possible causes of a health complaint, advise you on whether it is necessary to consult the GP and give you an impression of the urgency of the matter. The GP may further help you to establish the right diagnosis and with the choice for a possible treatment. The advice from your GP will always be leading.
The symptom checker may assist your GP to help you further.
The results of the symptom checker are stored in a complaint report. If you make an appointment with the GP through the Quin app, the complaint report will be shared with the GP. The GP will then be able to properly prepare for your consultation. The preliminary work will have been done so the GP will have more time to spend on you during the consultation. After completing the symptom checker, you can also contact the practice via chat. Even then - with your permission - we will share the complaint report.
